Get To Know Kortney McNeilus

The sweetest newbie you ever did meet.  She’s a full time student who’s crushing her goals in and out of the gym, and she may be small but she’s mighty!  Read on to get to know Kortney McNeilus.

 

What do you do for a living?

I am a full time student at RCTC.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of the gym?

Spoil my niece and nephews, I enjoy hunting, fishing and playing on co ed softball teams during the summer.

What made you decide to try Progression?

I saw an advertisement for the boot camp, and thought I would give it a shot!

How long have you been at CFP?

For 4 months. I guess you can consider me a newbie.

What was your experience with fitness like prior to Progression?

I’ve always been active with sports, but I’ve never been involved in a structured fitness program, such as CrossFit.

What was your biggest fear when you started?

Probably not knowing what all the CrossFit abbreviations meant, and being intimidated by the Olympic lifts.

Favorite cheat day meal?

The flyin’ Hawaiian pizza at Forager for sure…

What goal(s) are you currently chasing?

To be able to do a strict pull up, and build some more muscle.

What’s the hardest part about your fitness journey at the moment?

Being consistent with my nutrition, I veer off track sometimes…

What’s one thing your fellow CFP’ers would be surprised to learn about you?

I enjoy sewing quilts, and I love to bake! I’m kind of like a grandma!

What’s your favorite piece of advice you’ve gotten from a coach or member at CFP?

“Make this workout your bitch!”

How has your outlook on health/fitness changed since starting CrossFit?

I’ve learned that working out & nutrition truly go hand in hand. It’s a lifestyle.

What has been your fondest memory during your time at CFP?

Probably working out with my boot camp friends.

Why do you think you’ve stuck with CFP?

Because it holds me accountable & I like the WODS (I’m learning the abbreviations).

What would be your one piece of advice for someone who’s just joining CFP?

To stick with it! You will see amazing results in a short amount of time. You will also feel stronger!
