What do you do for a living?

I work at Mayo Clinic as a Registered Nurse.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of the gym?

I enjoy hiking, playing sports, concerts, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.

Favorite genre of music?

I like pretty much all types of music; it just depends on my mood.

Favorite cheat day meal?

Chocolate.  For the whole meal.

Chalk, or no chalk?

I’ve never used it.

Do you hate wall balls as much as we do?

I actually don’t hate wall balls at all.  There are things I dislike way more than wall balls.

What’s your favorite movement?

I’m enjoying learning how to do the Olympic lifts.

What’s your least favorite movement?

Double unders.  I stink at them.

What goal(s) are you currently chasing?

My goal is to get better at Olympic lifts.  I’ve never done them before and never thought I would like them but since I’ve started I am learning I love them quite a bit!

Best piece of advice you’ve gotten from a coach?

I like it when Nicki looks at me suspiciously and says, “I think you can go heavier”.

How do you make time to get to the gym?

It’s not something I have to work too hard at; I’ve always loved exercise.

Why do you make time to get to the gym?

Being active is important to me and I just love how working out makes me feel.

How has your outlook on fitness changed since starting CrossFit?

I have been stuck in a rut for years doing cardio and more cardio.  I was apprehensive about the lifting part of CrossFit but now I freaking love it!

How has your outlook on yourself changed since starting CrossFit?

It’s fun running fast, lifting heavy things, and pushing yourself.  It makes you feel like a bad ass when you’re done. 🙂

How would you explain the feeling before you get to the gym each day?

Sometimes I do get a little nervous but most of the time I am excited.

How would you explain the feeling you get after you leave the gym each day?

Well I am pretty exhausted but I love that feeling because that means I moved my body and am improving.

How has your life outside of CrossFit changed since joining CFP?

Haha, people get sick of me talking about CrossFit.

What has been your fondest memory during your time at CFP?

My fondest memory was the Friday Night Lights that I watched.  I didn’t participate but it was so fun and inspiring watching everyone be supportive and push one another.

What brought you to CFP?

I work with Jen Grenell.

What keeps you at CFP?

New friends and new strengths!

What would be your one piece of advice for someone who’s just joining CFP?

Don’t be intimidated.  I was the first few times I went but everyone is so nice, that feeling soon faded.
