I came from a distance running background and then did a brief stint with amateur bodybuilding.  I was so BORED and I wanted to try something exciting.

Boring and unsatisfying.   It just became a chore; not something I truly enjoyed.  I felt like I was spinning my wheels, not making any real progress or having fun.

What was your biggest fear when you started CrossFit?

Truthfully, I think my biggest fear was looking like an amateur.  I learned pretty quickly to check my ego at the door.

I’m chasing a handstand walk as well as really dialing in my accessory work.

For me it’s the pre-WOD anxiety.  Coming in to workout with a group can be a challenge for me but I feel at home here; like I can be myself and work to the best of my personal abilities without being judged.

What’s one thing your fellow CFP’ers would be surprised to learn about you?

I hold a CF-Level 1 certification.

I love that our sport empowers men and women alike to value themselves for their work ethic and accomplishments, not their appearance.

What has been your fondest memory during your time at CrossFit Progression?

It’s hard to choose but I had an amazing experience at Memorial Day Murph.  I love that the community came together to contribute and better the lives of others through the donations to Ironwood Springs and I felt a genuine support and respect for the memory of our fallen soldiers.
